What this service does
Starting from “I don't know where to begin”, you end up with the five things below. You don't need to know the name of any programme.
Where do I stand?
- When this is you
- 「You don't know what to tackle first, or even which stage you're at.」
- What you'll know
- Answer a few questions and you'll see which stage you're at and what's worth thinking about at that stage. It's fine if you haven't decided anything.
- What appears on screen
- ・The name of your current stage (e.g. “starting to consider divorce”) and why it was assessed that way
- ・Four things worth thinking about now
- ・Up to six good places to start, each with why it's suggested
- ・Helplines in your ward, with phone numbers and opening hours
What support can I get?
- When this is you
- 「You've heard support exists, but not whether you qualify or how much it would be.」
- What you'll know
- From what you enter, programmes are listed in three bands: likely eligible, needs checking, and unlikely right now. Nothing is stated as certain.
- What appears on screen
- ・What each programme provides and how much (e.g. Nerima's relocation support covers contract and moving costs up to 400,000 yen)
- ・A breakdown of conditions you meet, conditions to check, and conditions that don't currently fit
- ・Where to apply, documents needed, deadlines, and a contact phone number
- ・A link to the source, the date it was checked, and the period it applies to
Will the money last?
- When this is you
- 「You've never seen in figures whether life would work out after a divorce.」
- What you'll know
- Enter monthly income and spending and compare how the monthly balance could change under three sets of conditions. It does not judge whether divorcing is better.
- What appears on screen
- ・A three-column comparison: no support used, with public support, and public support plus child support
- ・A breakdown of take-home pay, other income, public support, child support, spending, and the monthly balance
- ・A breakdown of public support, showing which programme adds how much
- ・If no child support is entered, a calculation using the statutory level (20,000 yen per child per month) as a guide
What do I do, and when?
- When this is you
- 「You've heard some procedures have deadlines, but not what to do by when.」
- What you'll know
- Tasks are laid out by period, based on your planned (or final) divorce date. If no date is set, today is used instead.
- What appears on screen
- ・Lists by period: now, before the divorce is final, the day it becomes final, days 1-14, 15-30, 31-60, and 61-90
- ・Why each item matters, and a target date
- ・A done / not-for-now record, and how far along you are
- ・Related programme names
Consultation summary (one page to take with you)
- When this is you
- 「Explaining the same thing from scratch at every office is exhausting.」
- What you'll know
- What you've set out is gathered onto one page. It is shared with a helpline only when you choose who, what, and until when.
- What appears on screen
- ・A document covering where you stand, your family make-up, what's on your mind, and the support you may be able to use
- ・A choice of scope (the whole thing or a summary) and expiry (7, 30, or 90 days)
- ・A sharing history you can revoke at any time
- ・Free text stored encrypted
When an answer touches on safety
Where an answer touches on safety, helplines come before any other guidance. In that case, suggestions such as talking it over with your spouse are not shown. The service does not make the final judgement about your safety; it connects you to specialist helplines.
Read the safety informationWhat it does not do
- ・It does not judge whether you should divorce.
- ・It does not settle eligibility or amounts. What it shows is the possibility of qualifying; the final check happens at the office.
- ・It does not make legal judgements. Where needed, it connects you to a professional.
- ・It does not use generative AI to assess eligibility or calculate amounts. A rule engine does all of it.
